Acetaminophen (Tylenol) toxicity calculator

Acetaminophen (paracetamol/Tylenol) is one of the most dangerous human medications for pets — cats have essentially no safe dose. Enter the details to estimate the dose, then call a vet.

Frequently asked

How much Tylenol is toxic to cats?

Cats can show toxicity at around 10 mg/kg and severe effects at 50 mg/kg or more — a single regular tablet (325 mg) can be lethal to a cat. There is effectively no safe dose; treat any ingestion as an emergency.

Is acetaminophen toxic to dogs?

Yes. Hepatotoxicity is seen around 100 mg/kg and red-blood-cell damage at higher doses. Never give acetaminophen to a dog without veterinary direction.
